Construction has been part of our family history since the 1960s, with roots in the local Table Rock Lake area dating back to the 1980s. Over the years, our family has helped build, renovate, repair, and improve homes throughout the region while earning a reputation for honest work and quality craftsmanship.

Meet the Owners
Steven Paulsen – Co-Owner
Steven brings a unique combination of construction knowledge, technology expertise, leadership, and operational experience to every project.
He proudly served 10 years in the United States Marine Corps, where he developed the discipline, accountability, and problem-solving mindset that continue to guide how projects are managed today.
Steven holds both a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a degree in Construction Management, combining technical expertise with practical construction knowledge. This allows Lake Life Renovations & Remodeling to offer modern smart home solutions and technology-focused upgrades alongside traditional remodeling services. From smart lighting and security systems to connected home features, he helps homeowners integrate technology in practical, user-friendly ways.
In addition to his professional background, Steven comes from a family with decades of construction experience and has been involved around construction and remodeling work for much of his life.
Chris Cartwright – Co-Owner
Chris is a retired U.S. Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer with nearly 30 years of military service and over 20 years of hands-on construction and remodeling experience both during and outside of his Coast Guard career.
His background brings professionalism, precision, leadership, and attention to detail to every project. Chris has extensive experience working on residential projects ranging from repairs and renovations to larger remodeling efforts, always with a focus on quality workmanship and doing the job right.
Together, we combine military values, technical expertise, decades of construction experience, and a long-standing family tradition of craftsmanship to help homeowners confidently improve and maintain their homes.
